I. When applying for visa L and visa F, applicants should present the following documents and certificates:
1. Two copies of Visa and Residence Permit Application Form and two recently-taken 2- inch size photos (full face without hat)
2. Valid passport and visa for inspection and photocopy(s) of the following pages in the passport: basic data, visa and current inbound;
3. Temporary Accommodation Registration Form
Those applying for the visa marked with F shall hold official letter(s) of the reception unit and photocopy(s) of its Business License.
Those applying for the visa marked with L, who come to China as tourists, shall hold certifying documents for reception issued by a Chinese tourist agency; otherwise, finance evidence like traveler’s checks and bank draft voucher shall be provided. Cost of living is calculated by 100 USD/day.
Those applying for the visa marked with L, who come to China to visit relatives, shall present an application report, Marriage Certificate (or Birth Certificate and Kinship Certificate), the visited person’s ID, or other certificates related to this visit.

II. When applying for residence permit, applicants should present the following documents and certificates:
1. Two copies of Visa and Residence Permit Application Form and two recently-taken 2- inch size photos (full face without hat)
2. Valid passport and visa for inspection and photocopy(s) of the following pages in the passport: basic data, visa and current inbound;
3. Temporary Accommodation Registration Form
4. Health Certificate (except for those under 18 years of age);
5. original copy of Employment Certificate and Foreign Expert Certificate for inspection and photocopy(s) of Employment Certificate and Foreign Expert Certificate ;
6. A photocopy of Business License (or Registration Certificate), code certificate of the host unit and Permission Certificate (for foreign-invested enterprises only)
7. application report issued by the host enterprise or unit;
8. When applying for residence permit, applicants (family members of an alien who works in Jiaxing) should also present the following documents and certificates: 
original copy of the employee’s valid passport and Residence Permit for inspection; photocopy(s) of his passport and Residence Permit; Marriage Certificate or Kinship Certificate provided by the host work unit.

Points for attention:
1. If aliens apply for residence permit for the first time, they themselves should be present.
2. If there is any change relating to the reason for residence, passport number, or accompanying relatives, the permit holders should apply for, within 10 days, new residence permit to the division of issuing residence permit;
3. Should there be any alternations to the category of the Residence Permit (address, school, work unit, etc.), the permit holder shall also apply for, within 10 days, the alternations to the division of issuing residence permit.

1. Application for visa by aliens (from non-reciprocal countries):
single journey: 160yuan ; double: 235yuan; multiple journey for six months (including six months): 425yuan; multiple journey for one year (including one year) to five years (including five years): 635yuan.
