Jiaxing has won such national titles as the National Hygienic City, "Double-support" Model City, Model Green City, Excellent Tourist City, and National Garden City. Since the reform and opening , especially in recent years, the city has witnessed vigorous development and palpable improvement of its comprehensive strength. Statistics show that in 2009, the GDP of Jiaxing reached 191.796 billion yuan, a growth of 9.3%; the fiscal general revenue totaled 27.935 billion yuan, among which the local revenue 14.17 billion yuan, 10.8% and 11.7% up respectively; the per capita disposable income of the urban residents and the net income of the rural residents both grew over 9% ; the CPI fell by 0.9%; the registered unemployment rate in urban areas was 3.5%; and the natural growth rate of population was －0.12％.
