According to Jiaxing Harbor and Navigation Administration Bureau, the throughput of inland waterway port in the last 11 months of this year reaches 763 million ton and the throughput of the whole year is expected to hit 835 million tons, while the throughput of last year was 787.1 million tons. The rise which is 105.95% of the same period of last year is most likely correlative to the investment of 0.4 billion yuan by the central government in the early of this year, the project of Shanghai-Hangzhou Express Railway, the rise of thermoelectricity, and the growth of the total volume of retail sales.

According to information, this year’s cargoes characterized by two features. One is that the proportion of entry and exit is relatively in balance and the gap between entry and exile has been narrowed, with an entry of 54.3 million tons and an exit of 258.7 million tons. The other feature is that the types of cargoes are becoming multivariant, with shift of the major cargoes from construction materials and non-metal mineral to coal, steel and raw or unprocessed materials.
