The Yangtze River Delta (Jiaxing) Investment Fair 2009 was opened on Nov. 9, attracting several hundred enterprises worldwide. It is learned that this Fair includes signing ceremony of foreign investment projects, Jiaxing-Japan service outsourcing fair, investment seminar for overseas economic and trade cooperation areas, and Sino-German small and medium enterprises cooperation & international investment forum. At the signing ceremony of foreign investment projects held this morning (Nov.9), 25 projects were signed. They are mainly in such industries as modern agriculture, electronics and auto parts, and their investment is mainly from United States, Canada and Germany, with a total investment of $1.66 billion, and with contract use of foreign capital of $490 million. Present at the Fair were some leading officials of Jiaxing: Chen Derong, Li Weining, Zhou Chuxing, Jiang Renhuan and Weng Kexiong.

It is also learned that with the increase in comprehensive competitiveness of Jiaxing, an increasing number of enterprises invest here. By the end of 2008, 5,357 foreign enterprises from over 100 countries and regions had invested in Jiaxing, with an accumulated investment of $8.8 billion. 30 of them are world top 500. On the 2008 Forbes List of the Best Commercial Cities in Mainland China, Jiaxing ranks 26.
